In case you've forgotten what I look like, here is a portrait painted for me by my son (when he was 3 years old). Notice my long flowing hair - it is now short.

Cruising around doing chores, I stopped to take this picture of a totem pole which is downtown in Rotary Park . I took this especially for Will (age 7) who fell in love with totem poles when he visited the west this past summer. Sorry Will, I forgot to show you this one.

Saw "I'm Not There" on Monday. It is the Bob Dylan movie that has 5 actors portraying different periods in Dylan's life - starring Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger and many more. A very long, but very interesting film. I enjoyed it.
Also saw "Juno". The adults liked that film as much as all the teenagers in the theatre. Wow, the good movies just keep on coming. It's like a monsoon after a drought.

Hi Carol,I posted a comment to your dairy from october 2006 already, not yet knowing whom to.A friend of mine informed me about some blogger trying to find me.I had no idea who the person in question could be but soon I found the track.(At this point I`d like to apologize for my clumsy english Too little practice during the past two decades.)
What a surprise -mystical almost for only two weeks ago I came across negatives and slides with your portrait, scanned them in and looked at you when you were walking through Aldbury Woods, wearing a long, dark coat. But also pics of you I took in my studio in Redchurch Street,sun-tanned sitting on a black goatskin! When I looked at the photographs I started to get sad in a way...melacholic would propably be a better definition...I wondered why and came to the conclusion that I always felt a bit sad when my memories caught you.Often with a slight touch of guilt! There was something un-ready about us,fragmentary.Looking back I find a Gigi(in the meantime very seldom someone uses this name)I cannot approve of at all!Too much a of a macho.Thats possably the source of my guiltyness.Though I can´t remember the progression of our commun experiences-in my mind I feel instantly that during our time I most likely behaved wrong now and then.I experienced you somehow secretive, maybe shy.At no point during the past I thought of the possibility to get in touch with you again.I`m very happy about the chance to communicate with you again.Very happy!

I left britain about 1975.From that time on I kept changing my place of living every 5 to 8 years, staying in Austria,Greece,Turkey,France and Germany again until six years ago I decided to go to Berlin where I´m still.Though I find this city very exciting I also register the upcomming of some sort of restlessness.Surely I shall move again in the future.Dont know where to yet-time will show.
I turned 68 some weeks ago, feel healthy and resistable enough to keep up this rythmn for the rest of my life.Simular to my nomadic tendency I also kept working in different medias, driven by some restless curiosity.
Presently I`m a painter again and something is telling me that this time it will be for good.
My two grandsons (twins)are about entering university.I see them and my doughter with husband about two, three times a year. They are living in Graz still, quite the contrary to me,stabil and disciplined.(Mind you....I`m stabil too... but in a different way!
Though I feel in the mood to continue my writing I prefer to stop for the time being-until a reply reaches me from your side.
Not knowing the frequency of your blog-investigations I hope that I can read something of you in the near future.I´m filled up with impatience.
Thanks for trying to find me!
Wish my best wishes - Hans

PS:Using the computer mainly for sorting out pictures I surf very little. Therefore I am a bit clumsy with all this blogging business. But you have my mail-adress.I dont know whether you can read my adress lateron. To make sure I note it here:

You are too much Carol - almost to the point of rude with that picture of you that Shaun drew - nevertheless I laughed out loud when I saw it (at the library - shhhhhhhhhhh!) cause, well, I get the humour of it. And also to my delight I see that Hans (Gigi) has written in your blog which I have enjoyed perusing - In case Hans looks at this writing, I know you because I when I was living in Toronto and Carol was living with you in England, she would write me. Anyway, visitation is on Tuesday which Jimmy has to go to cause he has to go to work on Wednesday which is the day of the funeral for my sister-in-law. Thanks for phoning the other day. Please send me the other pics of Linda and Terry. Thanks MJT
