Still Saturday

For those of you following Shaun, I received a phone call from him, BUT was outside shovelling snow, so he just left a message. Said he was still in Costa Rica - a couple of friends were visiting him (Kim & Morgan) and that he would try to call me again. So, that's all I know.
Am participating in an activity challenge at work - our group against a similar group in PEI. You get points for various exercises you do and of course, most points wins at the end of the month. Shovelling, gives one lots of points, so I guess that's one good thing! And, it looks absolutely beautiful. Only about minus 15 degrees celcius, so great weather for outdoor activities. Book I'm currently reading - The Joy Luck Club - not a new book but am just getting around to it. I'm off for a pizza and a movie tonight. For anyone following the FA Cup, Manchester United beat Middlesbrough 3-0 and advance to the 5th round (O'Shea scored first, then Rooney with 2 brilliant goals). Tuesday, Manu v Arsenal in Premiership - always entertaining to watch.

Snow, snow, snow, I think we've had ENOUGH already - remember this climate is Semi Arid. I'm certain we must be breaking records. I have already shovelled off the top of the snow bank I am standing beside and will have to shovel it off again. I can't throw the snow over top anymore. My muscles are starting to look like Popeye's! Posted by Hello

January 25 - Robbie Burns Day

-15 degrees Celcius
OK, so I'm not so hot at keeping a diary. Our days are getting longer now - and I wanted to show you. I thought 5:00 PM would be a good time to start with, but now it is light at 5:00, so not such a good example. I then thought 6:00 PM would be good, but I wasn't home at 6 - nor at 7:00. At 8:00 PM I was home last night but was on the phone. So I took the picture at about 8:10 PM. I will post it if I remember how, but don't hold your breath. It's dark at 8:00.

Now for a Shaun update for all of you who asked. He made it to Costa Rica safe and sound (although missed his plane in Miami due to a late departure in Toronto. He phoned last Thursday and we talked until his voice disappeared (funny thing, that happened when we were talking about the money he owed me) so I hung up. He went to see a volcano, but it was pouring with rain so he didn't see it. Went snorkelling and is just doing hot weather things. He is wearing his sunscreen but omitted his lips which are burnt. He sounds happy and relaxed. When I hear from him again, I will up-date y'all. When I get a web site for his pictures, I will pass it on to you.

January 21

Last week was 50 below. This week is snow. My neighbour cleared my driveway - thank you so much Warren - and I just spent 1-1/2 hours today widening it. Now it is snowing again! Hope to put on some pictures, so you feel like you are living here too.
