When Alanna comes to my house, she immediately runs into her bedroom and comes out looking like a beautiful Princess.
This time she put tiny wings on her back and I was advised that she was a Faerie Princess.
It was quite a nice day so we decided to go for a Trolley ride. This is the last day it will be operating this season, so the decision was easy.
This was a first for me as I don't even like the idea of a trolley. It was made for the tourists and as far as I know has no relevance to our history except for the fact it runs on the original railroad tracks of the White Pass and Yukon Route train. The car had to be brought up from somewhere in the States. As they are repairing the major part of the track, you can almost see the entire length of the ride we took ... from the Round House (just past the White Pass station) to Rotary Park. And it costs $1.00 each!
We got off at Rotary Park, played in the playground for a while then I asked them if they wanted to walk back to the truck, or ride the train. The answer ... RIDE THE TRAIN. We paid our fare (again!) and found our seats. What should come on board but Alanna's favourite thing in the whole wide world --- UNICORNS!!!!! Now this WAS a magical ride (and worth the $1).
She stared and stared at them with a big smile on her face. I asked her if she wanted to have her picture taken with them and she said "no". Emerson in the meantime was melting into his seat hoping that I wouldn't ask him to sit with them for a picture. I guess this is their 'shy stage'.
The Unicorns heard me talking to the kids and moved into a seat across from us so the kids could sit or stand by them for a photo, but no, they just wanted to look and not get too close. So be it!
