I came upon this video quite by accident. I cannot believe that hitting people in public (or in private for that matter) is allowed. If anyone knows of this strange ritual, please explain it to me!

Nice or naughty? This is what will happen if you are naughty - a demon with a 12-inch long tongue will go to the homes of naughty children - lick them, beat them and carries them off in his sack. So this is a just a tradition that is re-enacted year after year to encourage one to be NICE!- MJT
