June 30th, SR & I flew down to Vancouver. We met Tara there, rented a car and drove to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal to hop a ferry to Gibsons. Little did we know that the newly refurbished BC ferry lost power as it was entering the terminal and ran over about 20 smaller boats that were moored in the harbour. Divers went down assess the damage (and I'm sure to ensure there were no bodies down there) and all ferry traffic was halted. You probably heard about this in the news. So, there we were, the first time in about 15 years that we're travelling to the Sechelt peninsula and stuck at the ferry terminal for hours on the beginning of the long week end. This is a picture of the stuck ferry and it is difficult to see, but there are a number of smaller boats half way under it. Luckily no one was hurt. Posted by Picasa
