Art of Wine Tasting was the name of the course. It was offered by the City and hosted by the President of the Opimian Society - Yukon Branch. On entering the room, we sat at a table in front of 4 glasses of wine - 2 white, 2 red. After (learning the art of..) testing and rating each of these wines, we then moved to pairing wine with food and plated 8 hors d'hoeuvres including Cajun Halibut with Lime Chili Mayo, Potato Crosini with Goat Cheese and Proscuitto and Bacon Wrapped Top Sirloin with chipotle BBQ Dip along with a glass of Cornelana Estate Malbec from Chile to sip with the food. Superb. To finish off the course was desert which included Ricotta Pancakes with Amarula Cream, Pear Puff Tarts and Nut, Cheese and Fruit Bites served with Cava Parxet from Spain. And to top it off, it was Debbie's birthday and I'm sure she couldn't ask for a better ending to the day than this. As well, half of Book Club was taking the course, so it will be interesting to attend the next book club meeting.
A thoroughly enjoyable course from beginning to end.
