Soccer Again

Ah, it brings back old memories, watching SR play indoor soccer. He was involved at some type of tourney at the Canada Games Centre and played with a lot of his old GoldKickers Soccer Club players.

They only lost by one goal. Pretty good considering the score was 7-6!

For Wally

Wally I took these photos for you. The picture above is the main bus route road in my neighbourhood. It is plowed on a regular basis.
Below is my street. It has only been plowed a couple of times this year. You cannot see the pavement on either street and it will stay like that till the end of March/April.

A Game of Shadows - Review

Did I mention we went to see the new SHERLOCK HOLMES movie, A Game of Shadows? You must know how excited I was (I should say we were as Tex and Kayla and I left the theatre buzzing with excitement). Well, Sherlock Holmes 2 doesn't disappoint! It showcases Holme's superior intelligence, has intrigue, action, humour, and a possible sequel -- ? --. I rate it 5 Stars out of 5 Stars. If you loved the first one, go and see the second.

Merry Xmas Lily

Here's Lily trying out her new booties.

Christmas Already

Brooke is leaving for YVR tomorrow, so tonight was Christmas day for us. We exchanged and OPENED our gifts and I was very very lucky - new boots and jewels both of which I will wear tomorrow for my next Christmas dinner. Above is SR with his new hoodie via Secret Santa. Even Lily opened her gifts - booties for the snow and cold.

Brooke unfortunately broke her foot the other day - dropped a log on it while loading the wood-stove at the cabin. Christmas on crutches for her.

Well, thanks kids for all the gifts. I absolutely loved them all and will get good use out of everything. Merry Christmas to you both!

Keeping Up

The following video was played at the 2009 Sony Shareholders' Meeting. Interestingly they speak of MySpace - I don't know too many that still use that.

Along the same lines is the following.

(Thanks Lisa)

A Book Club Xmas

We celebrated our Book Club Christmas on Saturday night. We have been meeting for at least 13 years as I found a Book Club photo from 1998. Wow! And we're still going strong.

A tradition is coming to an end as this is the last year for my Christmas cookies, so I will eat as many as I can! (not really ... but maybe).

Our official Chirstmas photo, which I will reprint again in 13 years' time and we can once again laugh at how we've changed. (As you may have noticed, we have one member who wishes to remain anonymous).

So here's to you my fellow Book Club members. Wishing you all Joy at Christmas and health, wealth and happiness in the coming year!

Bear-y Cute

Lisa, how can you be afraid of bears?!?!?

Thanks MJT.

O' Christmas Tree

The largest Christmas tree in the world has been built in Mexico City, it is 110.35 meters tall, and made it into the Guinness Book of Records.

The biggest Christmas tree display in the world rises up the slopes of Monte Ingino near Gubbio, in Italy’s Umbria region. Each year, on December 7 (Immaculate Conception Eve) the Christmas tree is lit up! (below)
