The Royal Botanical Gardens had an exhibit on ... Spiders Alive! Not something I would particularly go to myself, but we thought the kids would like it. They did! The exhibit wasn't as creepy as I though it would be. The spiders were all behind glass and (as far as I know) couldn't escape from their enclosures.
We saw Black Widows and a lot of others too.
They also had the BIGGEST spider in the world ... the Bird Eater Spider. Yes it does eat birds and their eggs. It is a type of tarantula, all big and furry.
Yuck!
They had floor games for the kids as well. Above, Alanna is trying to jump as far as a spider.
The kids each picked out something from the gift shop. Above you can see what Emerson chose. Lots of snakes makes him happy.
