So I'm suppose to be getting gifts together for Christmas and here I am watching a lonely raven on the lamp post. They never cease to amaze me. They are descending on my (birder) neighbour's yard, scaring away the magpies from the suet cage that fell onto the ground.
While watching the ravens and magpies, a swarm of birds flew in like a whirlwind, rested on the leafless aspen, and all few off again. On their second flight through, they dispersed amongst the multitude of feeders in the yard next door, staying only briefly before continuing on their way.
Perhaps I'll think Christmas tomorrow.
